LETHBRIDGE – It was a celebration at the Lethbridge Public Library, as the newly renovated Children’s Area was unveiled on Thursday.

The Main Branch Modernization Project (MBMP) began in 2015, with the re-opening of the Children’s Area bringing Phase One to a close.

“It’s refreshed and renewed. We wanted to give them a bigger play area, a wonderful puppet area and then moved the desk a little bit closer so that the public can have easier access,” noted Rick Poulin, Manager of Maintenance and Facility Services. “I think we’ve managed to obtain that and more! They’re very pleased.”

Although it’s just opened to the community, Pulin added that customers are already impressed with all the improvements.

The goal of the MBMP is to move from area to area, eventually addressing all sections of the Library.

Construction has now moved to the upper south wing where some demolition has already begun. New carpets will be the next big step.
