Woman Charged After Car Collides with Train on City’s South Side

LETHBRIDGE:   A 35-year woman has been charged by CP Police for failing to stop at a railway crossing, which resulted in a collision.

Just before 2:00-pm on Saturday (On July 16th), emergency personnel were called to a single vehicle collision with a train on 43 Street at 10th Avenue South.

A Volkswagen Touareg driven by the 35 year old woman was southbound on 43 Street when it collided with a train crossing the roadway. The railway signals were working and operational at the time.

Of the four occupants in the Volkswagen, one was treated for an ankle injury while others were treated for minor bumps and bruises.
