ALBERTA – The Chief Mountain port of entry will only remain open for one more week.

It’s set to close for the season next Friday (Sept. 30) at 6 P.M., before re-opening for the next summer season on May 15, 2017.

Hours at the Wild Horse port of entry – located 145 km south of Medicine Hat on Highway 41 – will also be reduced at the end of the month. Starting October 1, they will return to regular hours of 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. after operating from 8 A.M. to 9 P.M. for the summer.

Between May and August of this year, officers at Chief Mountain welcomed 90,182 travellers, while Wild Horse saw 16,707 people enter Canada.
