Kelowna Rockets double the Hurricanes 6-3 at the Enmax

LETHBRIDGE –  Heading into Lethbridge on Wednesday with an early season standing of 1-and-4 may have been the impetus for a hungry charge on the ice for Kelowna.   The Rockets started slow, but took the game by a score of 6 to 3.
 
The Canes opened the scoring on a power play five-minutes into the first period, thanks to Colton Kroeker, assisted by Jordy Bellerive and Egor Babenko.   The second period saw each team log one goal each.  From there, Kelowna took control in the third frame.
 
Calvin Thurkauf scored twice and Kelowna rattled off four straight goals en route to thier victory over the Hurricanes.

Gordie Ballhorn, Kole Line, Thomas Soustal and Jordan Borstmayer had the other goals for the Rockets (2-4-0).

Colton Kroeker, Jesse Zaharichuk and Tyler Wong scored for Lethbridge (3-2-0).
 
The two teams matched each other for shots-on-goal at 27 apiece. However, Kelowna racked up 27 penalty minutes to Lethbridge’s 19.
 
The night’s three Stars: 3 – Tyler Wong (1G),  2 – Tomas Soustal (1G, 1A),  1- Calvin Thurkauf (2G, 1A).
 
The Lethrbidge Hurricanes head out on the road for the weekend, to play Spokane on Friday night and Tri-Cities on Saturday.
