Hurricanes waive one defenseman, add another

LETHBRIDGE – The Hurricanes placed one overage defenseman on waivers Tuesday while claiming another.

Shaun Dosanjh joins the team from the Kamloops Blazers, who had claimed him off waivers from Prince George earlier in the season. The 6’1”, 201-pound 20-year-old has one goal and three assists in 18 games this season with the Blazers and Cougars, racking up 18 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating.

The team also waived Kord Pankewicz. The 20-year-old played in 155 games spread out over three seasons, scoring 12 goals and 85 assists, with a plus-22 rating and 147 penalty minutes.

The next game for the Hurricanes is Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. against the Prince Albert Raiders. Lethbridge has a record of 11-11-1-2, and sits in fourth place in the WHL’s Central Division, just one point behind the Edmonton Oil Kings.
