Lethbridge Hurricanes make it three in a row

LETHBRIDGE – Chalk up another victory for the Lethbridge Hurricanes, as they soundly defeated the Saskatoon Blades at the Enmax Centre last night  6-2 with Matt Alfaro leading the way with a hat trick and an assist.
 
The Canes came out strong in the first period, but at 4:20, Saskatoon’s Cole Johnston got in goalie Ryan Gilchrist’s way and was issued a five minute major, and a game misconduct for goalie interference.
 
At 5:08 of the power play Alfaro knocked in the first of his three with Tyler Wong and Giorgio Estephan completing the assists. Near the end of the period, Saskatoon Answered back to tie up the game 1-1.

In the second, the ‘Canes continued  to play strong, and Captain Tyler Wong got his 42nd goal of the season at the 9:33 mark –near the 15 minute mark, Alfaro picked up his second of the night to make it 3-1 for the Hurricanes.

The Blades made a solid push in the third, and ended up within 1 goal of the ‘Canes. But at 8:08 of the third, Alfaro made it a hat trick with his third goal of the game while the team was shorthanded, to make it 4-2.

At 9:56, Brady Pouteau sunk his first goal as a Hurricane, with  Babenko and Zborosky picking up the assists. Zborosky then added another goal during a power play, to make it 6-2 for the win.
