Children across the country can help name the RCMP’s new foals

LETHBRIDGE – The RCMP are hoping children across the country can help them name 14 foals to Celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday.
The foals will be born this spring at the RCMP breeding farm in Pakenham, Ontario.
One winner will be selected from each of the 13 provinces and territories, and in addition, one entry from a school class will also be selected.
To qualify, entries must follow these rules:

  • All names must begin with the letter “O.”
  • Everyone entering has to be 14 years or younger
  • One entry per child
  • An individual entry must include the child’s first name only, school, city, province or territory and email address
  • School entries must include the teacher’s name, school, city, province or territory and email address
  • Entries must be received by April 30th, 2017

Winners will be chosen by the instructors of the RCMP musical ride, and will be announced in May. Those who are chosen will receive a framed picture of the foal, a t-shirt, pins and a 2017 Musical Ride pennant, among other prizes.
