UPDATE: Two people arrested after police pursuit ends near Foremost

FOREMOST - UPDATE: Two people have been arrested, after a two hour police pursuit that began with a traffic stop Wednesday (June 14) afternoon near the Town of Raymond.

RCMP Cpl. Curtis Peters says around 2 pm, Raymond officers tried to stop a vehicle that was reported stolen. The vehicle fled, hitting two RCMP vehicles in the process.

Peters says officers took off in pursuit, and notified the Taber and Foremost detachments, along with the Lethbridge Police and the Calgary Police HAWCS helicopter for assistance.

During the chase, another police vehicle was hit and one officer discharged their gun, however no one was hurt.

The chase ended near the town of Foremost where RCMP arrested 1 male and 1 female.

Both have been taken into custody. More information is expected when charges have been laid.
