Hurricanes sign draft picks out of Notre Dame

LETHBRIDGE — The Hurricanes have signed two second round draft picks.

Goaltender Bryan Thomson and defenseman Jonah Regier, both 15, were selected by Lethbridge 37th and 38th overall in the WHL Bantam Draft. Both spent the 2016-17 season with the Bantam AAA Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox, Sask.

Thomson, originally from Moose Jaw, had a 3.72 goals-against average with a save percentage of .895 over 18 regular season games. He went on to a 2.33 GAA and .935 save percentage in three postseason games.

Regier hails from Weyburn, Sask. In 30 regular season games he had two goals and three assists, wtih ten penalty minutes.
