Trial date for convicted Coaldale sex offender still a month away

Jul 24, 2017 | 12:22 PM

LETHBRIDGE – A Coaldale man facing numerous sex-related charges against minors, will not have his trial date set until the end of August.

32-year old Trevor Pritchard’s case has been adjourned to August 28, and at that time, the Crown is hoping a date for trial can be worked out.

Pritchard’s lawyer says he hasn’t had enough time to meet with his client and review the case.

The Crown expressed its concern about the delay, however the judge has allowed another month for all of the evidence to be reviewed.

Pritchard previously served a 44-month sentence in Nov. 2013 for sexually assaulting two 13-year-old girls.

He is facing new charges including sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, sexual touching of a person under 16, and abduction of a person under the age of 16, and possessing, accessing and making child pornography.

The charges related to three additional victims under the age of 18.
