Police need information to identify robbery suspect

LETHBRIDGE –  Police are investigating a robbery at a south side gas station and need the public’s help to identify the female suspect.

Around 1:27-pm on July 24, police responded to a report of a robbery at Gas King along the 2600 block of 16 Avenue South after a lone female entered the store, loitered there for some time, then grabbed a phone charger and walked out.

A physical altercation resulted when a staff member confronted the suspect outside the store.  The suspect left the area on foot, then returned and began fighting with the clerk a second time before fleeing the area.

The clerk received minor injuries.

The suspect is described as an Aboriginal female, with long black hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a magenta hoodie, black jeans and black Ugg-style boots

Anyone who recognizes the woman is asked to call police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477. Crime Stoppers will pay cash for information leading to an arrest.
