Lethbridge heads to Junior Little League playoffs undefeated

LETHBRIDGE — The host Junior Bulls are undefeated, as they prepare for the playoffs of the Junior Little League Canadian Championships.

Lethbridge defeated Team Alberta 9-2 Monday, Aug. 7 to finish the round robin with a 5-0 record. Both the Bulls and Alberta, represented by Medicine Hat Little League, had eight hits during the game.

Dawson Leroux was credited with the win, after taking the mound with two outs in the second inning. Leroux allowed two hits and struck out four batters during 2.1 innings. Starting pitcher Ty Wevers hit a two-run homer in the first inning. Ethan Smith was credited with the save.

The round robin ended with Alberta, B.C., and Ontario all at 3-2. Following the tiebreaker round Tuesday, Lethbridge will play the fourth place team Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 10 a.m.
