LETHBRIDGE - If you're looking for some family-friendly events going on in the Lethbridge area today, the Gas King Stage at Exhibition Park is set for a free event beginning at 11 a.m.

The Dream Catchers, a group of 26 young actors from across the country who combine hip hop, spoken word and blend it with contemporary and Indigenous dance, will perform at 1:15 p.m.

There will be vendors, food trucks, a show and shine and photo ops with Lethbridge's historic 1912 restored Number 8 Streetcar as well. The event goes on until 3 o'clock this afternoon.

At Galt Gardens, the 5th annual Applefest! is also taking place.

There will be a number of workshops including how to make your own apple cider vinegar, eating bugs as a protein alternative, and other sustainable living exhibits.

There will be an apple press for on-site apple juicing and pasteurizing, a beer garden, musical entertainment and a number of vendors.

The event goes on until 8 oclock (August 12).

Temporary lanes closures Sunday on Whoop-Up Drive
