Temporary lanes closures Sunday on Whoop-Up Drive

LETHBRIDGE – If you need to cross Whoop-Up Bridge Sunday (August 13), you’ll have to either use an alternate route, or be prepared for delays.
 
Beginning at 6 a.m., all westbound lanes on Whoop-Up Drive will be closed until 5 p.m. and two way- traffic will be set up in the eastbound lanes, so crews can get some bridge maintenance work completed.
 
Westbound traffic on Whoop-Up will be detoured to eastbound lanes at the crossover point west of Scenic Drive, and routed back to the westbound lanes just east of University Drive.
 
Traffic from northbound and southbound Scenic Drive will not have access to Whoop-Up Bridge during the lane closure.
 
Expect delays throughout the day today, if you’re travellling anywhere near these routes.
 
The speed limit will also be reduced to just 50 km/h in both directions.
 
Those who need to travel between Lethbridge’s east and west sides, are being asked to use Highway 3 as an alternative route.
