LETHBRIDGE – NHL Central Scouting issued its preliminary ‘Players to Watch’ list for the 2018 NHL Entry Draft earlier today, with 27 WHL players making the grade including a Lethbridge Hurricane.

Hurricanes defenseman Calen Addison has been ranked as a ‘B’ level prospects by the National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Service.

The ‘B’ rating indicates a second or third round candidate for the 2018 Entry Draft.

Addison was one of only five other WHL skaters to be given the rank of ‘B’, and the only Hurricane to make the list.

The 17-year-old Brandon, Manitoba native is currently in his second season with the Hurricanes.

A former second overall pick in the 2015 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft, Addison appeared in 63 games last season with Lethbridge, scoring 9 goals and adding 24 assists to go along with a plus-6 rating and 52 penalty minutes.

So far this season, the sophomore defender has posted three assists along with four penalty minutes in four regular season games.

Addison was also a key player for Team Canada at the 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup Tournament in August, where he and Hurricanes head coach Brent Kisio helped lead Canada to a Gold medal.
