18th Annual Lethbridge Cornmaze fundraiser to benefit hurricane victims

Oct 9, 2017 | 9:18 AM

LETHBRIDGE – It takes about three days for Theo Slingerland to carve out his awesome and intricate corn creations on his farm north west of Lethbridge.

This year, he has created a “Canad150” themed maze, along with  hedge and puzzle mazes. On Thanksgiving Day, October 9, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. he’s hoping for a good turnout for their 18th annual fundraiser.

All of the proceeds of the admission and a BBQ will go to the victims of Hurricane Irma.

“This year we have decided to donate to Samaritan’s Purse, because we have been in contact with them for several years and I know they do a great job.”

Besides the mazes, there will also be a number of other activities, including a petting zoo, pumpkin patch, and plenty of photo opportunities.

“We are part of the community, and there are so many people that come out and support what we do” he explains. “We like to give back to the community as well, so we can help those who are less fortunate.”

Admission is $10 for adults and $9 for children ages 6-17. There are reduced rates for families and children under the age of three get in for free.
