Hurricanes deal Zablocki to Victoria for picks

LETHBRIDGE – Ahead of the 3 p.m. WHL Trade Deadline on Wednesday (Jan. 10), the Lethbridge Hurricanes have made another move: trading forward Lane Zablocki to the Victoria Royals in exchange for a second and sixth round draft pick in the 2018 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft and a conditional third round draft pick in 2019.

Zablocki, 19, was acquired in December from the Red Deer Rebels by the Hurricanes.

The Wetaskiwin, Alberta native played in nine games with the Hurricanes posting two goals and four assists for six points to along with 12 penalty minutes and an even-rating.

So far this season, the Detroit Red Wings draft pick has totaled 25 points with 61 penalty minutes in 40 games with the Hurricanes and Rebels.
