Taber man facing charges for death threats, and possesion of a weapon

TABER – Taber Police have charged 40-year-old Donald Bourassa with multiple offences following an incident over the weekend.

Police say on Saturday, Jan. 13 around 4:30 p.m. they received a complaint of an assault with a weapon that had taken place at a home located in the 5000 block of 43rd Avenue.

Following an investigation, police allege a man threatened a victim with a knife after an altercation, and uttered threats to kill the victim as well.

The victim received injuries to his fingers from the knife according to police.

As a result, Bourassa is facing charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.

He was brought before a Justice of the Peace, remanded into custody and did appear in Taber Provincial Court today for a show cause hearing.
