Thousands expected as Ag Expo gets under way

LETHBRIDGE – More than 350 exhibitors have packed into the buildings, and out onto the grounds, of Lethbridge Exhibition Park.

Ag Expo and North American Seed Fair run until Friday, Mar. 2, bringing an expected 20,000 people to the park. Marketing manager Doug Kryzanowski said things were off to a good start Wednesday.

“Obviously the weather’s really good. It’s too wet in the field, so people have only got one place to come, and that’s to come and visit and have a coffee, and visit Ag Expo for the next three days,” he said.

Not only is there a waiting list for exhibitors, some even come and wait, hoping a booked exhibitor doesn’t show up.

“It’s a show of demand, that we just don’t have enough space,” he added. He also said the spinoff for Lethbridge is great, with money being spent on food, gas, hotels, and shopping.
