Addison cracks top 30 North American skaters in final NHL Central Scouting rankings

CALGARY – The National Hockey League released its final Central Scouting rankings ahead of the 2018 Draft, and 46 WHL players made the list of North American skaters including Lethbridge Hurricanes defenceman Calen Addison who cracked the top 30.

In the mid-season rankings, Addison was listed at #34 so after a solid finish to the season and so far in the playoffs, he’s moved up four spots to #30.

Heading the list of defencemen from the WHL is Spokane Chiefs defenceman Ty Smith who is ranked 14th among North American skaters. 

Defenceman Alexander Alexeyev from the Red Deer Rebels is ranked 22nd, while Moose Jaw Warriors defenceman Jett Woo is two spots ahead of Addison at 28th.

Addison, the 17-year-old Brandon, Manitoba native, is currently in his second season with the Hurricanes.

He scored 11 goals and added 54 assists in 68 games during the regular season while finishing a -18 with 53 penalty minutes. So far in the postseason, Addison has 3 goals 10 assists and is -6 in 10 games played.
