Apr 30, 2018 | 3:28 PM

TABER – Emergency Alert for the Municipal District of Taber is no longer in effect.

The region has been dealing with overland flooding, and a state of local emergency has been in place since March 23. According to Alberta Emergency Alert, the situation in the region has stabilized and is improving, and the state of emergency is expected to be formally lifted later today.

However, despite the news, several roads in the region remain closed, and barricades remain in place.

Motorists are being advised to no bypass or move barricades on the roads, and not travel through water covered roads, as there could be hidden hazards, including washout and erosion.
