STIRLING – RCMP have laid charges in the investigation into two horses that were being boarded on a Stirling farm, that were sold for processing.

On April 28, RCMP received a report of the horses sold without the owner’s permission.

The horse’s owner had been keeping the animals at the Stirling area farm for five years, however she was informed by a relative that the owner had passed away April 9.

She was then told she would have to find another facility to board them by April 28.

Police say a suitable facility was found, and on April 28 the woman went to collect her horses, only to be told that they had been taken away and sold.

Police allege a relative of the deceased man named Wayne Jubb, transported the horses to a Fort Macleod processing facility, falsified documents indicating he was the owner, and sold them for processing.

Jubb has been charged with Theft of Cattle, Trafficking Stolen Property and Uttering Forged Documents.

He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court May 23, 2018.
