Lethbridge Paradise Canyon Open looking for volunteers and caddies

LETHBRIDGE – If you love the game of golf, organizers of the inaugural Lethbridge Paradise Canyon Open are encouraging residents to get involved as a volunteer or a caddie at the event from June 18-24.

A release states this is a chance to learn all about a professional golf tournament from the perspective of a volunteer.

Volunteer Chair Michelle Gallucci says they teed off their volunteer recruitment at the first Information and Registration Night a few weeks ago with over 150 volunteers signing up, and the volunteer numbers continue to grow.

“We estimate that we will need approximately 250 volunteers to operate the type of professional golf tournament required by PGA TOUR Canada. We invite those who enjoy golf in Lethbridge and area to help us present a first-class tournament that all of us will be proud of,” Gallucci added.

Several volunteer opportunities are available to choose from including scoring, marshalling, transportation, and tournament operations.

Anyone wanting to get up close to the players to learn how they play the game should consider volunteering as a Walking Scorer.

Organizers say following a group of players through 18 holes will provide a tremendous insight on how professionals play the challenging Paradise Canyon golf course.

Volunteer perks include a souvenir tournament golf shirt and cap, daily lunches, and complimentary tournament passes. To learn more about the volunteer opportunity or to register, visit here.
