Cyclist in hospital after collision in south Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE – A 30-year-old woman is in hospital with a head injury, after a collision involving a bicycle in south Lethbridge Friday, May 11.

Police say shortly before 9 a.m. the woman’s bicycle was struck by a car at the intersection of Mayor Magrath Drive and 20 Ave. S. According to investigators, the cyclist was riding her bicycle across Mayor Magrath in the crosswalk, while the southbound motorist had a green light.

Traffic on Mayor Magrath Drive southbound was reduced to one lane while police investigated, with the road expected to be fully open by 11:30 a.m.
