LETHBRIDGE – The Hurricanes have signed their first-round draft pick to a standard player agreement.

Zack Stringer of Lethbridge was selected by the Hurricanes eighth overall during the WHL Bantam Draft in Red Deer. Stringer spent last season as an underage player with the Lethbridge AAA Hurricanes midget team, helping them win bronze at the Telus Cup.

Stringer also recently scored two goals with 10 assists for the Western Canada Selects Under-15 team, at the 2018 World Selects Invitational tournament in Philadelphia.

In a news release, Hurricanes general manager Peter Anholt said the team was “really pleased” to land Stringer with the eighth overall pick, and is excited to have him signed.
