Lethbridge woman charged in connection with 2017 homicide in Calgary
CALGARY – A 45-year-old Lethbridge woman has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a homicide that occurred in Calgary last year.
Calgary Police report that around 1:20 a.m. on Feb. 22, 2017, they responded to a closed bank along Northland Drive N.W., after a security guard found a woman in distress outside. The victim, identified as 28-year-old Trisheena Simon, was taken to hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries two days later.
An extensive investigation led police to a suspect, and they believe that individual and the victim had recently met before the incident. They allege the two got into an altercation that escalated to violence.
As a result of that investigation, Crystal Mills was charged with manslaughter. She is scheduled to appear in court in Calgary on May 25.
