ALBERTA – Senior citizens in Alberta have a chance to take in the province’s heritage and history at no charge over the next week.

The government has announced free admission for people aged 65 and over, at Alberta historic sites, museums, and the Provincial Archives of Alberta. The free admission will be in effect during Seniors’ Week, June 3-9.

“Seniors are at the heart of our communities and organizations, helping to make life better for all Albertans. This is a great opportunity for us to celebrate their contributions to our province by giving the gift of free entertainment and education,” minister of culture and tourism Ricardo Miranda said in a news release.

The list of facilities includes the Remington Carriage Museum in Cardston, the Brooks Aqueduct, Frank Slide Interpretive Centre, Leitch Collieries, and Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump.
