Bulls avoid sweep in Fort McMurray with season’s first win

FORT McMURRAY – The Lethbridge Bulls are finally in the win column.

After starting the season with three straight losses, the Bulls broke the streak Sunday, June 3 with a 17-6 win over the Fort McMurray Giants. The Bulls had 17 hits compared to the Giants’ 11.

Ashton Roy, Brett Mercier and Grant Schmidt each had three hits for the Bulls, while starting pitcher Adam Grieder got the win, allowing three runs on 6 hits in 6 innings.

The Bulls have Monday off, with games in Brooks and Medicine Hat Tuesday and Wednesday. Their home opener is Friday, June 8 against the Okotoks Dawgs.
