Taber one of six finalists for Coors Banquet One Horse Town Contest

TABER — Coors Banquet has announced the six finalists for this year’s One Horse Town contest, and Taber, Alberta has made the list.

Selected from nominations all over Canada, a release states each of the six finalists reflect the hardworking nature and pride found in small towns. 

The other five towns joining Taber on the list of finalists include Miramichi, New Brunswick; Portage la Prairie, Manitoba; Napanee, Ontario; Nicolet, Quebec; and Williams Lake, British Columbia.

The six towns will compete in a round of fan voting to select the winner, and the winning town will have an opportunity to host a country music concert featuring Dallas Smith, Tim Hicks and Kira Isabella.

With the voting phase now open, contest organizers are encouraging anyone over the age of 19 to vote every day for their favourite of the top six towns here.

Whichever town receives the most votes on July 15 by 11:59 p.m. will be announced the winner of the One Horse Town and a host a concert open to their residents.

The grand prize winner will be on announced on July 23 and will continue the tradition started in Lacombe, Alberta in 2015 followed by Truro, Nova Scotia in 2016 and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 2017.
