Close win at home for Bulls over Brooks

LETHBRIDGE – The Bulls improved to 4-7 with a 4-3 victory over the Brooks Bombers Thursday, June 14.

The game-winning run was scored by Kaleb Warden on a sacrifice fly by Nick Ankermann with no outs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Warden himself drove in two runs, including one on a sacrifice fly in the fourth.

The winning pitcher was Derrick Talon, who relieved starter Andrew Grieder with two outs in the top of the eighth. Closer Chris Stodolka made the save, coming in for the ninth.

The Bulls will spend Father’s Day weekend in the provincial capital, for a three-game series against the Edmonton Prospects. The first game is Friday, June 15.
