Late rally propels the Bulls past the Bombers 9-8

LETHBRIDGE – The Lethbridge Bulls sent the announced crowd of 1,039 home happy from Spitz Stadium with their ninth-inning comeback victory over Brooks on Friday night.  

The win leaves Lethbridge with a record of 7-10 on the season. 

With the Bulls trailing 8-7 in the bottom of the ninth Hank Forrest’s single scored Brett Semeniuk to tie the game. Then with the bases loaded Brett Mercier stepped in, was hit by a pitch and brought home the winning run.

Luis Sterling was stellar for Brooks. The Bronx, New York native had a home run, three RBI, two walks and scored three runs in the Bomber defeat. 

Forrest had four hits on the night to lead the way offensively for the Bulls. Talon Derrick picked up his third Bulls win in six relief appearances.

The Bulls and Bombers wrap up the home-and-home series tonight in Brooks at Elks Stadium.
