Mavericks run over Bulls for second straight game

LETHBRIDGE – Different ballpark, similar result.

The Lethbridge Bulls were hammered by the Medicine Hat Mavericks for a second straight game, 13-5 the final score Monday, June 25 at Spitz Stadium. The Mavericks were 15-5 winners one day earlier.

The Bulls trailed right from the start, giving up two runs in each of the first two innings, and were held hitless until the third inning when Jaret Semeniuk singled, and was later driven home by Hank Forrest.

Brett Mercier and Kaleb Warden both hit solo home runs later in the game.

Andrew Greider was the losing pitcher, allowing eight runs, five of them earned, on 11 hits while striking out nine batters in six and one-third innings.

Attendance on a sunny and hot evening was 1,263.

Medicine Hat is now 15-3, while the Bulls fall to 7-12. Their next game is Tuesday, June 26 when they take on the Dawgs at Okotoks.
