Bulls held to two hits in loss at Yorkton

YORKTON, Sask. – The Lethbridge Bulls were held to just two hits in a 2-0 loss to the Yorkton Cardinals Sunday, July 8.

Yorkton starter Hunter Sanford pitched a complete-game two-hitter, striking out nine and walking only two batters. Bulls reliever Talon Derrick was tagged with the loss, giving up both Yorkton runs after relieving starter Luc Hebert at the start of the seventh inning.

Hebert had allowed five hits, with three walks and nine strikeouts.

It’s a second-straight loss for the Bulls, who are now 12-18. They play a second game against the 7-20 Cardinals in Yorkton Monday, July 9 before wrapping up their Eastern Division trip with two games in Melville.
