LETHBRIDGE – The Helen Schuler Nature Centre is inviting young artists to participate in the next community art gallery exhibition “Inspired by Nature.”

In a release, they invite anyone in Alberta under the age of 18 who expresses interest to submit work as part of the display sponsored by the Rotary Club of Lethbridge East.

Submissions must be inspired by nature and can be art like drawings, paintings, sketching’s, music, photography, videography, or creative writing.

Curtis Goodman, Helen Schuler Nature Centre Resource Development Coordinator, says the Nature Centre’s community art gallery is a fantastic venue for creative expression.

“We are always seeking artists interested in exhibiting their nature or environmental themed artwork. Inspired by Nature will be the third youth art gallery exhibition delivered in partnership with Rotary Club of Lethbridge East,” Goodman said.

Prospective participating artists are asked to submit their expression of interest before Aug. 31 with details on their work.

This will allow gallery organizers to plan the exhibition and accommodate all of the entries. More information on how to participate can be found here.

The exhibition itself will run Sept. 11 through to Nov. 4, 2018. It will feature a mix of indoor and outdoor installations as part of this year’s Art Walk.

A Gallery Closing reception will be held on Oct. 30 will provide an opportunity to recognize the amazing submissions and award prizes to “Best in Show.”

Organizers encourage families to make the most of summer by spending time outside together and encouraging closer connections with nature.

They believe time spent in the great outdoors will provide fantastic memories, as well as ample opportunities to create original art to display as part of the “Inspired by Nature” youth art gallery exhibition.
