Bulls shut out in rain-shortened game

LETHBRIDGE – The Bulls were held to just one hit in a rain-shortened 9-0 loss at the hands of the Brooks Bombers Wednesday, July 18.

The game was called due to weather after seven innings. Brooks pitcher Jonny Chavez stayed in for the full seven, allowing one hit with five walks and five strikeouts.

The losing pitcher was Lethbridge’s Kale Penner, who gave up seven runs, four of them earned, on nine hits over five innings, while striking out eight batters. Carter Witbeck had the lone Bulls hit, a double in the second inning.

With nine regular-season games remaining, the Bulls are now 15-23, while Brooks improves to 11-27.
