RCMP and Taber Police nab Strathmore break and enter suspect

Aug 1, 2018 | 5:43 PM

COALDALE —  A vigilant RCMP officer zeroed-in on a break-and enter suspect on Highway 3 around noon Wednesday, after recognizing the driver as allegedly being involved in property offences in the Strathmore area.

The Coaldale officer followed the driver heading east, as Taber-Vauxhall RCMP and Taber Police were notified.  It’s alleged the male suspect evaded police earlier in the day driving at high speeds on a motorcycle.

Just after 1:00-pm, officers from the three departments converged at intersection of Highway 3 and 55th street in Taber to arrest the man when he momentarily stopped at the busy intersection.

No name has been released as the investigation continues.  Charges are pending for break, enter and theft and flight from police.
