City using lining process to rehabilitate north-side water mains

LETHBRIDGE – For the first time, the City of Lethbridge will use a lining process to rehabilitate aging water mains.

The north side project is set to begin Monday, Aug. 6 and is expected to take until early November, weather permitting. The affected mains are along the following streets:

• 1500-2200 blocks of 13 Ave. N.
• 1000-1100 blocks of 20 St. N.
• 1900 block 10 Ave. N.

The lining process is seen as a less obtrusive alternative to digging up and replacing the lines. The streets will remain open during the project, although on-street parking may be affected.
