RCMP Major Crimes South investigating death of two-year-old

CARDSTON – The RCMP Major Crimes South are investigating the death of a two-year-old girl who was taken to hospital on Aug. 2 with serious injuries.  

In a release, the Cardston RCMP say they were notified of the situation on Aug. 3 and launched an investigation.  

On Monday, Aug. 6, the young girl died in the hospital because of her injuries.  

An autopsy was completed at the Calgary Medical Examiner’s office on Tuesday, Aug. 7, and the RCMP are working with several agencies as the investigation continues.  

Police say an update will be provided when available.
