New information released about upcoming One Horse Town event in Taber

TABER – The Town of Taber is preparing to host some of the biggest names in country music this fall.

On Sept. 15, Taber will play host to the national Coors Banquet One Horse Town event featuring Dallas Smith, Tim Hicks and Kira Isabella.

The town won the competition back in July, from a list of six places across the country that included Williams Lake, B.C.; Miramichi, New Brunswick; Napanee, Ontario; Nicolet, Quebec; and Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.

Coors Banquet, after a slew of questions online, released information regarding the event with the Town of Taber.

Tickets for the One Horse Town event, taking place at Confederation Park, will be available on Aug. 20 at 2:00 p.m. here.

All tickets for residents are free.

In previous years, organizers say tickets were claimed within one hour of being made available online.

The Town of Taber has provided the postal codes for addresses within the MD of Taber (and all towns, hamlets and villages within the geographic borders of the Municipal District of Taber) that will put Town and MD residents on equal footing to get tickets on a first-come, first served basis.

Only addresses falling within postal codes that have been provided by the winning town will be accepted. If the address provided doesn’t fall within the parameters of the winning town, the tickets cannot be claimed.

Residents can claim up to two tickets, and if one household includes Jane Doe and John Doe, Jane and John can get two tickets each for a total of four tickets.

Everyone attending must have their own ticket.

Residents will be sent an email with the number of tickets they selected – if they selected only one, they will receive one ticket with a unique barcode. If they selected two, they will be sent two tickets each with a unique barcode.

Residents who get two tickets have the option to bring one guest of their choice, and their guest doesn’t have to be from Taber.

All attendees must be the legal drinking age, and this event will be non-smoking based on the AGLC regulations stating that smoking within a licensed premise is not permissible.

No animals will be allowed on the grounds either, except those legally permissible such as service dogs.

If the ticket site crashes when you go to claim your tickets, don’t panic. Coors Banquet says this is due to the large influx of website traffic that happens when too many people begin claiming tickets at once. Try refreshing the page at frequent intervals to determine if tickets are still available to be claimed.
