Province adds spaces to high-tech post-secondary courses
CALGARY – Two Lethbridge post-secondary institutions will share in a government announcement to create more student spaces to study high-tech fields.
Programs were chosen based on demand from both students and the labour market, and the seats were added mostly to existing one- and two-year programs offering certificates, degrees, and diplomas. The province is creating 406 seats for the 2018-19 school year.
Lethbridge College will see the addition of 19 seats in Computer Information Technology. The University of Lethbridge is gaining two seats in the Masters of Science/Computer Science co-op program.
Other seats are being added in Calgary to the University of Calgary, SAIT, and Bow Valley College; and in Edmonton at the University of Alberta, Concordia University of Edmonton, and NAIT.
