Taber man struck, killed on Gleichen-area highway

WHEATLAND COUNTY – A Taber man is dead after being struck by a vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway.

RCMP from Gleichen were called shortly before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22 to the scene of the incident, west of Cluny near Range Road 211. Police said the pedestrian was struck by an eastbound semi. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic was diverted for several hours, but the scene was cleared by 5 a.m. The victim has been identified as a 38-year-old man from Taber.
