Grass fire contained on Blood Reserve

BLOOD RESERVE – The grass fire on the Blood Reserve has been contained.

Blood Tribe Police say it was thanks to a very quick response from nearby civilians with heavy equipment and local fire crews.

The fire is near Highway 509, about halfway between Lethbridge and Standoff, and that fire crews are on scene.

Police also noted that there are no houses or structures in the immediate area and light winds helped keep the fire from spreading very quickly.
