COALDALE – The Fire Hall Expansion and Renovation Project is going out to tender for construction, following unanimous approval from Coaldale Town Council on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

In a media release from the community, it’s noted that the estimated $3.3 Million project will address issues with the current building, such as ventilation and filtration of hydrocarbons in the garage area, sufficient infrastructure for industrial washing, additional administrative space for staff, oversized garage doors to accommodate new apparatus and vehicles, and enhanced training areas.

Funding for the project will come from the firehall building reserve, MSI Capital funding and a municipal debenture.

Council also gave first reading to Borrowing Bylaw 743-B-09-18, which sets out the project’s financing details.
