FORT MACLEOD – It happened again. But this time, it was resolved quickly.

A six-year-old boy is safe and unhurt after a vehicle was stolen with him inside. According to Fort Macleod RCMP, it happened at around 10:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17. A grey Chevrolet Tahoe was stolen from the area of 10th St. and 6th Ave.

While no Amber Alert was issued, RCMP did issue a news release at midnight with a description of the boy and the vehicle. A spokesperson later told The Canadian Press the case did not meet the strict criteria to issue an Amber Alert.

Shortly after 1 a.m. RCMP announced the vehicle and the child had been found. Police are still investigating.

Just a day earlier, a vehicle was stolen from a North Battleford, Sask. parking lot with a six-year-old girl with autism inside. In that case, an Amber Alert was issued and residents came together to conduct an extensive search, until the vehicle and child turned up in an industrial area Monday morning.
