Provincial partnership aiming to connect Alberta with Silicon Valley dollars

EDMONTON – The province is working with an investment contractor to help connect Alberta businesses with Silicon Valley.

It’s called Connection Silicon Valley (CSV), and its aim is to help build relationships, leading to the flow of investment dollars. CSV is itself working with the Alberta-based JPC Corp. investment attraction firm and consultant. They hope to match investors from the Bay Area with companies and talent in this province.

The partnership was announced at a news conference at the legislature Thursday, Sept. 20. Joanne Fedeyko, CEO of CSV, hopes to help provide access to $25 billion in total investment capital available in the California tech corridor.

An Alberta-California link was one of the outcomes from a trade mission by Economic Development and Trade Minister Deron Bilous to San Francisco in May. That trip included meetings with business leaders, investors, and other agencies.
