EDMONTON —  The city of Edmonton is offering help to Calgary as it digs out from a record October snowfall.

Mayor Don Iveson says in a tweet that his city is rolling out 30 plows to help with 15 to 25 centimetres of snow that has fallen in Calgary.

More than 100 collisions were reported on the slick roads by 8:00 a-m and Calgary’s director of transport says 80 buses got stuck during the morning commute.

Environment Canada says snowfall warnings remain in effect for an area stretching from Jasper National Park to Lethbridge with 15 to 30 centimetres expected to fall and up to 45 centimetres possible in the Rocky Mountains.
