RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigates death on Piikani First Nation

PIIKANI FIRST NATION – The RCMP’s Major Crimes South Unit has been called in to investigate the death of a 39-year old man on the Piikani First Nation.
 
According to Piikani RCMP, on Friday, Oct. 12, they responded to a report of a deceased man in his home. An autopsy was completed Monday, Oct. 15,  but the cause of death was not immediately determined and the Chief Medical Health Officer is continuing to investigate.
 
No other information on the circumstances of the man’s death have been released. Police say they are conducting extensive interviews and have been working on the Piikani First Nation to process information in relation to the death.
 
The man’s name has not been released.
