Disaster exercise may produce smoke, loud noises Wednesday

LETHBRIDGE – People living near Exhibition Park may hear and see some alarming things Wednesday, Oct. 24. But it’s no cause for actual alarm.

A joint disaster response exercise is being conducted by Lethbridge Fire/EMS, Lethbridge Police Service, Lethbridge 911, and Alberta Health Services. It’s a mock disaster that will include occasional smoke and loud noises, and emergency vehicles travelling between Exhibition Park and Chinook Regional Hospital.

The hospital is maintaining normal operations and is open to the public for treatment. However, the public in general is asked to avoid the hospital and Exhibition areas while the exercise is happening.
