LETHBRIDGE – Police have issued an arrest warrant for an 18-year-old man who allegedly assaulted an officer and tried to take his taser after police attended an out of control party at La Cité des Prairies early Sunday morning.

Lethbridge Police say on Oct. 28 around 1:30 a.m. they were called to the party at the hall after a fire extinguisher went off inside and several fights broke out. As the crowd was leaving, another fight broke out south of the centre.

According to police, while one officer was placing someone under arrest, a male tackled him from behind and the officer was knocked to the ground. The man then allegedly tried to hold the officer down and to take his Conducted Energy Weapon from its holster. The officer was able to maintain control of the weapon and the male fled the scene.

After an investigation, police say the hall was rented for a private party and there were anywhere from 100 to 150 youths ages 15 to 21 attending. Damage to the hall is estimated at around $4,000.

Brooks resident Peyton Thomas Kale Many Shots has been charged with assaulting a peace officer, disarming or attempting to disarm a peace officer and obstructing a peace officer.

Anyone with information on where Many Shots may be, is asked to immediately contact Lethbridge Police or Crime Stoppers.

Correction: LPS have informed the media that the incident occurred at La Cité des Prairies, not Ecole Verendrye as they originally reported.
