Strong placements for some Lethbridge Speed Skaters at Edmonton Fall Classic

LETHBRIDGE – Nine skaters from the Lethbridge Speed Skating Association competed at the Edmonton Fall Classic, held Nov. 10-11, and a number of them placed well.

Nearly 170 skaters from Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Manitoba, Yukon and the Northwest Territories competed at the two-day event in L2T (Learning-to-Train), T2T (Training-to-Train) and Open Divisions.

The meet was also the first of two qualifiers for Alberta T2T skaters to attend the Canada West Short Track Championships which are being held in Grande Prairie in March 2019.

The second qualifier will be held in Lethbridge at the ATB Centre on Feb. 23 and 24, 2019.

Lethbridge skater’s placement:

Zak Adelman: 2nd in L2T Division 1

Zoe Wesseling: 7th in L2T Division 4

Zosia Adelman: 10th in L2T Division 4

Mikka Eaves: 8th in T2T female division

Denise Wesseling: 41st in T2T female division

Riley Vanderburgh: 21st in T2T male division

Jonathan McIntosh: 24th in T2T male division

Braeden Kremenik: 31st in T2T male division

Mitchell Wesseling: 48th in T2T male division
